A Community Commitment to Democracy

General Election with Scouts

General Election with class

STUDENTS

Kids Voting is for all Saint Paul students, from high school down through kindergarten. The program involves fun activities in the classroom as well as an Election Day experience where you can vote in the specially designated Kids Voting areas of the open polling places on Election Day from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Additionally, many students volunteer with Kids Voting.

On Tuesday, November 4, 2008, you have a wonderful opportunity, and a very important job – you get to vote! You’re never too young to take part in this cool thing we call democracy. As Americans, we are very lucky to have a say in how things work in our communities and country. When you vote, you have a voice in our democracy. You get to help choose our leaders.

BUT, how do you decide? You should take some time to learn about the people who want to be your leaders. Until one of them is elected, they are all called “candidates.”
